STATEMENT FROM UNITED WAY OF NEW YORK CITY IN SUPPORT OF HAITIAN RELIEF EFFORTS
New York, NY – United Way of New York City, CEO, Gordon Campbell, released the following statement today about the earthquake in Haiti and United Way’s efforts to help victims of this tragedy: United Way of New York City expresses its support for those affected by this horrific tragedy, and our condolences to the many Haitians living in our city that have lost loves ones, friends and relatives. The United Way system is committed to helping with long-term recovery efforts in the aftermath of this crisis. United Way Worldwide’s Core Crisis Team is working closely with the United Way Caribbean Regional Council for insights into the needs on the ground and how to most effectively assist in long-term recovery efforts. New Yorkers who would like to donate money to help people affected by the earthquake can do so by making a contribution to United Way’s Worldwide Disaster Fund: http://www.unitedway.org/haiti/.
