Gridiron Gala
For more than 40 years, United Way and the National Football League have teamed up to improve the lives of young people across the country. The New York Giants, the New York Jets, and United Way of New York City have partnered up to support our New York City neighbors.
The Annual Gridiron Gala is a celebration of this longstanding partnership and a call for a continued collaboration to support the communities that United Way of New York City serves. Since its inception, the Gridiron Gala has raised nearly $38 million to help fund its impactful initiatives and programs for children and their families throughout the five boroughs.

power of women to make a difference luncheon
Each March, United Way of New York City’s Women United host the Annual Power of Women to Make a Difference Luncheon. This premiere event honors the achievements of outstanding women leaders whose professional accomplishments are matched by their commitment to philanthropy and giving back to the community.
United Way of New York City and Women United came together on March 12 for the 18th Annual Power of Women to Make a Difference Awards Luncheon in a celebration of the strength and power of community, raising funds for our education equity work.
Summer Soiree
Each summer, United Way of New York City’s Young Leaders Council come together for an intimate rooftop cocktail party overlooking Central Park at the Summer Soiree. Guests sipped summer spritzers and enjoyed panoramic views of New York City from the sweeping penthouse patio, adorned with a gorgeous pre-summer sunset. Proceeds from the event benefit United Way of New York City’s ReadNYC program—helping write the story of success for our Once Upon a Summer students and shifting New York families toward self-sufficiency.
