United Way of New York City's Women United group is a key network of community-driven women dedicated to making a difference in the lives of struggling New Yorkers. These talented women advocate, fundraise, and volunteer to solve issues facing our most-vulnerable neighbors.
Women United members especially champion United Way of New York City's education work, specifically ReadNYC™, United Way of New York City's signature program that's improving grade-level reading by third grade for children living in some of our City's most-challenged communities, while helping their families build more stable homes.
Women United's annual luncheon honors the achievements of outstanding women leaders whose professional accomplishments are matched by their commitment to philanthropy and giving back to their community.
This year's honorees include: Kim Davis, EVP, Social Impact, Growth Initiatives & Legislative Affairs, National Hockey League; Ellen Patterson, Group Head, General Counsel, TD Bank Group; and Margaret M. Smyth, U.S. CFO, National Grid.
Net proceeds from this signature event support United Way of New York City’s education initiatives, serving thousands of young people across the five boroughs each year.
