United Way of New York City consistently ranks in the top percentile of efficiency among charities of our size.  Our administrative expense is only 8%, compared to the national average of 11%.  We're stretching your dollar to ensure that as much as possible goes directly to our work helping struggling New Yorkers.

Beyond that, we're committed to leveraging your gift—regardless of size—so that it will yield considerably greater impact.  United Way of New York City works with a wide range of diverse partners in every community, including large and small community-based organizations, local and state government, corporations, small businesses, faith-based organizations, foundations, and individuals.  Because of these longstanding relationships, we are able to leverage your contribution with foundation grants, government contracts and other funding.
