Community Grants
Nonprofits represent roughly 10% of national employment and 15.6% employment in New York.
United Way of New York City's Community Grants reflect our ongoing commitment to strengthen the organizational capacity of community-based nonprofits serving the city's most vulnerable populations.
Our 2011-2012 Community Grants will offer two types of one-time grants that will be awarded through a competitive Request for Proposals process to a limited number of health and human services organizations serving New York City residents:
- Collaboration Grants will support teams of two or more community-based organizations that seek to create or expand innovative partnerships in order to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Community Leaders Impact Grants will enable emerging nonprofit leaders to obtain professional development training to better address critical issues impacting their organizations.
