How ePledge Works

Who can use ePledge?
Almost any company can use ePledge to administer its workplace campaign. To use the service,

  • At least 80% of employees should have access to PCs or the Internet.
  • Employees must use Internet Explorer 6.0 or Netscape 4.7.
  • The company must provide United Way of New York City with an electronic file of employee names, unique employee identifiers (SS or company ID), and home or business addresses prior to launching ePledge.

What is the cost of ePledge?
The only cost associated with ePledge is the use of the company staff time. For example, a programmer will have to supply United Way of New York City with employee data from the company's payroll system. ePledge will likely reduce your company's overall administrative costs for running a United Way campaign.

Is ePledge secure and confidential?
United Way of New York City's ePledge system is hosted at a highly secure facility, that uses 24-hour guards, surveillance cameras and biometric access throughout the data center. Access to the system's database is password protected and transmission of information to or from your browser and the server is encrypted. United Way of New York City has a privacy policy whereby donor data is never sold or rented to third parties.

Can my company customize the ePledge experience?
Yes.  You can customize the splash page as well as email announcements (kickoff, reminders, thanks, etc.) with your company's visual brand.  You can also create your own menu options specific to your company's giving goals, incentives, and announcements.
