On March 7, 2018, in the vibrant swell of Women’s History Month and United Way of New York City’s (UWNYC) 80th Anniversary, UWNYC’s Women United brought the invaluable #powerofwomen together for their 12th Annual Power of Women to Make a Difference Award Luncheon—celebrating the awe-inspiring power of women to drive impact and to fight for a New York City where all families can thrive.
Nearly 600 community-driven guests joined UWNYC to affirm their commitment to our fight for the self-sufficiency of every low-income New Yorker. Together, we aimed to "move the needle." By uniting 600 diverse and influential voices, our collective inspirations and beliefs, Women United raised more than $1 million to help low-income NYC families make ends meet, seize their inborn strength, and live out their Big Apple dreams for generations to come.
If you joined us, THANK YOU. Thank you for standing with us, united—WOMEN UNITED—to help create a city where every individual has the chance to thrive. And a special thanks to our honorees Kim Davis, Ellen Patterson, and Margaret M. Smyth, our host Cheryl Wills, and our sponsors American Banker/Source Media, Veuve Clicquot, and Lafayette 148 New York. Check out our event journal to see all the organizations and individuals that made our Luncheon possible. We hope you enjoy our highlights!
