Sunita Subramanian

General Counsel

Sunita Subramanian is the General Counsel at United Way of New York City.  Prior to joining United Way in November 2007, she was a Senior Staff Attorney at Lawyers Alliance for New York, where she advised nonprofit organizations on a variety of corporate and other legal matters relevant to exempt organizations, including corporate governance and tax issues, contract review, corporate formation, strategic alliances and compliance with laws governing lobbying and political activity. She also taught workshops on a variety of nonprofit law issues.

Prior to joining Lawyers Alliance, Sunita practiced corporate law for four years. She received her BA from Wellesley College and her JD from The George Washington University Law School.
