Creative Hackathon #HackForGood with Corbis, United Way and Five Creative Agencies

The Semi-Finalists have been announced!

After a long day of intense creation by the five participating agencies and incredible feats of image research, production and other superhero project support from Corbis, the pieces created were presented to the judging panel.  Every project blew the judges away, and truly showed the passion of the Creatives in telling the story of New Yorkers in need and of the work of the United Way of New York City.  It was a truly difficult judging process, but two semi-finalists were finally chosen - ArnoldNYC and Havas Life Metro. The semi-finalists now have until the end of the day on Tuesday, February 25 to present a final, polished piece back to the judges.  Check back on Wednesday, February 26 to find out who won!

We hope you'll follow #HackForGood on Instagram and Twitter today for highlights of our first Creative Hackathon.

What is a Hackathon? It has nothing to do with illegal hacking, we promise! A Hackathon is an event with a group of talented people - coders, programmers, application developers, etc. who get together for anywhere from a few hours to a few days, break into teams and create a solution to a particular challenge and present their project to be judged by a panel of experts.  In this case, five Creative Agencies from throughout NYC are spending today creating a visual piece that tells the story of the work of United Way of New York City.

We are immensely grateful to our host and partner, Corbis, and to the five agencies who have volunteered their time today:

Please join us in thanking them by sharing and retweeting the images and video showing the teams hard at work! Search #HackForGood on Instagram and Twitter, or visit our Facebook page to share photos there.

Check back on Wednesday, February 26 to for the announcement of the winner!
