United Way of New York City Is Recognized by the Better Business Bureau as a Charity Seal Holder

New York, NYThe Education and Research Foundation of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) once again recognizes United Way of New York City (UWNYC) as a BBB Metro NY Accredited Charity Seal Holder! The official list was released on May 27, 2015 on the BBB’s website and published by the New York Daily News and other online media outlets.

Earlier this year, UWNYC’s Administration team, in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications team, began working directly with the BBB to update our information and ensure that UWNYC is in compliance with the rigorous 20 BBB Standards for Charity Accountability. Some of these requirements include, but are not limited to, governance, effectiveness self-assessment, how donor dollars are used, financial management, privacy issues and fundraising.

The seal is considered a valued trustmark that instantly communicates UWNYC’s high standards to current and potential donors and can be displayed online and in solicitation materials.

This is truly a UWNYC team effort—special recognition to the Legal, Resource Development and Finance teams for submitting everything required to maintain our status and to seal the deal!
