NEW YORK, NY—Alex Rodriguez, Director, Communications at United Way of New York City (UWNYC), has been named one of New York Nonprofit Media’s 2016 40 Under 40 2016 Rising Stars. The prestigious Rising Star award recognizes exemplary individuals under the age of 40 for their accomplishments and excellence in the nonprofit world. The winners were honored at a celebratory breakfast this morning at Capital Grille in New York City.

As Director of Communications at UWNYC, Rodriguez leads communications strategy and implementation across all sectors and drives innovation, compelling storytelling and strategy to maximize engagement, ultimately enriching the organization’s bottom-line. Prior to joining UWNYC, Rodriguez served as Manager, Stakeholder Communications at United Way Worldwide, supporting nearly 1,800 United Ways across the globe and managing major partnerships like Red Ned Nose Day with Comic Relief and NBC.
