New York, NY—On Friday, June 8, nearly 150 members and guests of United Way of New York City’s Young Leaders Council came together for an intimate rooftop cocktail party overlooking Central Park at our Summer Soiree. Guests sipped summer spritzers, while they enjoyed panoramic views of New York City from the sweeping penthouse patio adorned with a gorgeous pre-summer sunset.

At the event attendees had the opportunity to donate for a chance to have lunch with a United Way of New York City Board Member. All proceeds from the event go to benefit Once Upon a Summer, United Way of New York City's ReadNYC's summer literacy and arts camp that keeps kids learning all summer long and gives them a jumpstart on the upcoming academic year. The 2018 Summer Soiree helped raise nearly $40,000 for United Way of New York City’s ReadNYC program and helped write the story of success for our Once Upon a Summer campers and helps New York families shift from barely surviving to thriving.
