Senior Vice President & Chief Development Officer
Sue Davies is Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for United Way of New York City (UWNYC). In this role, Sue oversees Resource Development activities and strategies for UWNYC, including corporate engagement, foundation giving, major and individual gifts, affinity groups and events fundraising. Over more than 3 decades of leadership in the field, Sue has helped to generate more than $200 million for educational, social services, youth programs, science and healthcare organizations and has trained hundreds of volunteer leaders and board members in relationship development and fundraising. Sue has held leadership positions at Montclair State University, Rutgers University, Barnard College, the American Cancer Society, New York Academy of Sciences, and the All Stars Project.
Sue currently serves on the Board of Directors for the All Stars Project and has previously served on the Boards of Women in Development, the Association for Fundraising Professionals-New Jersey Chapter and Leadership Newark. For the past decade, Sue has been on the faculty at New York University where she has taught development communications and fundraising. She has been a featured speaker at programs sponsored by: Women in Development, the Association for Fundraising Professionals, the Foundation Center, Do Something, Marymount College, Yeshiva University, New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, American Cancer Society (Eastern Division and National), and elsewhere. Sue recently received the Top 50 Nonprofit Leaders Over 50 Award from New York Nonprofit Media.
Sue received her BA from Bryn Mawr College, a certificate in database development and design from Columbia University and a Masters in Information Science from Pace University.
