16TH ANNUAL POWER OF WOMEN TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AWARDs LUNCHEON

It was a packed house at the Ziegfeld Ballroom on Tuesday, March 15 for Women’s EmPOWERment, the 16th annual Power of Women to Make a Difference Awards Luncheon. We were thrilled to get back together in-person to celebrate the incredible work of our Women United leaders since the pandemic.

This signature event raised nearly $1M for our ReadNYC program, helping children achieve grade-level reading and fortifying families, schools, and communities simultaneously to achieve success. Thank you for empowering us and turning your passion into action to improve the lives of our low-income neighbors, and to create a more equitable New York City.

We appreciate our incredible host Lilliana Vazquez and this year’s inspirational honorees: Debra-Ellen Glickstein and Cheryl McKissack Daniel. We’d be remiss not to recognize and pay tribute to UWNYC’s former President and CEO Sheena Wright – New York City’s newest Deputy Mayor of Strategic Initiatives.

We also want to recognize our Rising Stars emerging females who demonstrate resilience and resourcefulness in their field of service, and are actively engaged in volunteering, advocacy, and other philanthropic ventures to improve our local community.
