On February 29, UWNYC proudly presented the return of the Black Studies: An Education For Me + You Bookmobile and Bookfair Tour.

Created in partnership with the Education Equity Action Plan Coalition, this transformative journey delves into the rich tapestry of Black voices, experiences, and legacies. The Black Studies: An Education for Me + You series is more than your typical tour. It is a movement dedicated to ensuring that Black Studies as the study of the world resonates in every classroom, enriching the education of all students and elevating our entire educational system.

The physical BookMobile is an experience in itself – an interactive museum on wheels where Black Studies Curriculum comes alive.

The tour will visit each of the five boroughs with a total of eight stops from February to June. Several stops will be open to the public, including stops at The Bronx Children’s Museum, Lincoln Center, and Tompkins Ave Market Association Block Party. Find the full tour schedule at unitedway.nyc/bookmobile.

Ten thousand books will be distributed to students, promoting a love for literature and providing exposure to diverse voices and varied genres. The tour will also include exclusive conversations and read-alouds with Black authors, illustrators, and storytellers.
